People

Have the tendency to
Succeed and fail
Pursue and run from
Seek out and close off
Surrender and choose
It’s apart of “Human nature”
I know YOU the one reading this newsletter acts out at least 3 of these words above daily.
So do I, it’s not easy to admit to failure, it’s hard to surrender and a good majority of the time I close off to others.

Me

I am currently enrolled in Center for Global
Action
a program through Adventures. This is the same organization I paired up with for the last 9 months of my life, living as a world racer. CGA is on the roll with week one in the history books. The past week had a sweet welcome then earth-shattering news about the hard things. “What hard things?” Well, let me tell ya. Walls have been busted down, the air of vulnerability fills every ounce of the room and trust is an understatement of what we give and receive. The past week has been meaty, I am still chewing the lessons and words spoken over the course of the past ten days. The emotions I’ve stuffed since May 15th, 2018 have resurfaced. I am weak and not playing strong anymore. I have been choosing to close off and run from my emotions. Today, as I write this first newsletter. I want to let YOU the reader know that it’s ok to not be ok. Truly, IT’S OK TO NOT BE OK. I’ve had the hardest time accepting that Men can weep and be vulnerable with others. Hiding emotions and stuffing them down corrupts your heart. To be in-sync is to throw a check mark by your physical health, emotional health, and spiritual health. Which only go hand in hand when you are pursuing healthy boundaries in each category. I’ve been learning more about these three “live by” boundaries from the book, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, by Peter Scazzero. I suggest you pick it up if you are ready to unlock yourself before the Lord and others.

On a completely different note, I am working at Culvers in Gainesville, GA. To raise funds to support the program and put food on the table. Currently living the “broke missionary life”, but It’s all GOOD!
Funny story, All 5 of the men in CGA including me were searching for jobs about two weeks ago. We were driving home from lunch at Collegiate Grill (the best burger in town), we stopped at a few places for applications like Five Guys… ha…. then finally we found our home from 5-11pm after class at Culvers. When we arrived at Culvers, all 5 of us sat down with Mark and Dawn Dahl the owners of the franchise. As we sat and talked, we had an immediate connection after they told us that they were called by the Lord to plant a Culvers in Gainesville, GA as they are from Wisconsin. Dawn told us that she had been praying for a community of believers to work with them. Kaboom, emotions were streaming we were stoked to start. It felt like it was too good to be true in the beginning but… It’s still just too good. My fellow coworkers are solid people all with unique stories and aspirations. The Lord is already transforming lives in the workforce, (I am giddy right now as I type this). The Lord is TRANSFORMING LIVES IN THE WORKFORCE. Guess what the formula for transformation is? Be yourself in Christ. Truly following the Lord, will produce fruit. Galatians 5:22-23, (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self- Control)

Hope

Humility Hunger and a whole lotta Jesus are the guiding principles to keep you on the route of Life. Change comes when you compete with yourself and follow the Lord’s survival guide (Bible) daily, setting apart from the world and bringing the kingdom declaring clarity over your purpose. I am excited for the journey ahead that is unfolding daily right before me.

Thank You

All who are receiving this newsletter have supported me in the past and present with prayer and financial support. I regret not filling you in on the race as much as I should’ve. Sticking with me through the full 8 months was encouraging knowing that prayer warriors were surrounding my squad, team, me and my family back in good ole Texas! Finances are needed to walk out the calling the Lord has put on my life. I am struggling to gain financial support, as I have raised $1,125 out of $5,950.  If you would like to support my next steps here at CGA financially click on this link DONATE, before committing to an amount sit with the Lord.
Prayers are needed specifically for the town of Gainesville, GA. Breakthrough is happening here in ATL, GA and it is spreading throughout the communities. God is on the move, churches are baptizing with the fire of the Holy Spirit. Woohoo!
“Luke 3:16 NIV John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
BLESS THE LORD, HAVE A SPECTACULAR WEEK!
